The Marina’s first builder, still building.
Emaar Properties was founded in 1997 by Mohamed Alabbar and registered with the Dubai Land Department in February 2008. Propsearch counts about 118,400 homes delivered between 2002 and 2025. It is listed on the Dubai Financial Market; Dubai Holding became its largest shareholder (22.27%) in May 2026.
Dubai Marina was an Emaar master development: the Marina Promenade and Park Island towers, Al Majara and the Dubai Marina Towers are its own. Since 2018 it has been building Emaar Beachfront, a 27-tower beach community at Dubai Harbour, where most of its current launches are.
